雙語(yǔ)閱讀|有時(shí)，放棄并不是一件壞事

長(zhǎng)輩們、學(xué)霸們、老師們和勵(lì)志書籍和雞湯一直在給我們洗腦，讓我們不要放棄。但是如果堅(jiān)持真的讓人備受煎熬又無(wú)法達(dá)成自己的心愿的話，那么堅(jiān)持還有什么用。有時(shí)，放棄并不是一件壞事。自己的生活還應(yīng)該是自己做主，來(lái)看我們的閱讀文章吧。

When you try too hard but you don't succeed; when despite all your efforts you don't get the results you need, give up and move on. Drop it like it's hot, and run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

當(dāng)你竭盡全力還是沒(méi)有成功的時(shí)候，當(dāng)你付出所有努力還是沒(méi)有得到想要結(jié)果的時(shí)候，放棄吧，然后從頭再來(lái)！扔掉這塊燙手山芋，以你最快的速度逃離它。

Baffled? What is wrong with giving up?

感到困惑嗎？放棄又有什么錯(cuò)呢？

Oh yes, we all have been trained and conditioned to work hard to achieve our dreams, and that is a good thing.

是的，我們都曾經(jīng)被教導(dǎo)要努力才能實(shí)現(xiàn)我們的夢(mèng)想，那是一件好事。

The problem arises when all these inspirational quotes start confusing us.

但是當(dāng)這些勵(lì)志名言把我們弄糊涂的時(shí)候，問(wèn)題就出現(xiàn)了。

These messages tell people not to give up, but they don't tell you that it should only apply to your true dreams.

這些名言告訴人們不要放棄，但是卻并沒(méi)有告訴你那只適用于你真正的夢(mèng)想。

They tell one to "try and try again" until they succeed, but that amount of effort should only be put toward what you really want in life and one should never quit at what they think to be their life's purpose.

它們告訴人們要“一次又一次地嘗試”直到成功，但是那樣的努力應(yīng)該只用來(lái)得到你人生中最想得到的東西、以及無(wú)論人生目標(biāo)是什么也決定不會(huì)放棄的東西。

The rest is all just there to confuse you, distract you, give you a headache, heartache and depress you, so don't let it.

其余的一切都只是為了迷惑你、讓你分心、使你頭疼、令你心痛、逼你抑郁，所以不要讓它得逞。

If you suck at piano and you know it's because you don't even like the instrument, give it up.

如果你鋼琴?gòu)棽缓?，而你也知道是因?yàn)樽约翰幌矚g鋼琴，那就放棄吧。

If no matter how hard you study you can hardly score an above average grade, don't worry, your talent lies somewhere else. Not everybody is an A-student.

如果不管你多么努力地學(xué)習(xí)，也很難取得平均以上分?jǐn)?shù)的話，不要擔(dān)心，你的才能不在這方面。不是每個(gè)人都是好學(xué)生。

If you always end up burning the chocolate cake you are trying to bake, maybe it is because you were born to buy one and not make one. Quit baking.

如果你總是把巧克力蛋糕烤成黑炭，也許那是因?yàn)槟惚緛?lái)就應(yīng)該買一個(gè)，而不是自己做一個(gè)。別再烤蛋糕啦。

Are you the worst performer on your sales team, and even the interns are better than you are? It's because you were not supposed to be a sales person, you were meant to be a DJ.

你是銷售團(tuán)隊(duì)里業(yè)績(jī)最差的嗎？即使實(shí)習(xí)生都比你做得好？那是因?yàn)槟惚緛?lái)就不應(yīng)該做銷售員，你應(yīng)該當(dāng)個(gè)DJ。

Try to recognize your talent, your ability and your skills. Find out what you are good at, what makes you happy and then work on it.

試著找出你的才能、你的能力和你的技能。找出你擅長(zhǎng)的東西、使你快樂(lè)的東西，然后從事那方面的工作。

If you do, no one would have to tell you or inspire you to not give up because when you love something, you keep trying until you get it right and the enthusiasm flows from within.

如果你這樣做了，沒(méi)有人會(huì)來(lái)告訴你或鼓勵(lì)你絕不要放棄，因?yàn)楫?dāng)你喜歡某件事情的時(shí)候，你會(huì)一直嘗試直到做對(duì)它，而在這過(guò)程中你會(huì)一直保持極大的熱情。

Don't worry about what people will say or think, it's your life, you have to live it and you have to be your own boss.

不要擔(dān)心人們會(huì)說(shuō)什么或想什么，這是你自己的生活，你必須活下去，你必須成為自己的主宰。
