題目:
Any people are intended to go abroad to travel to see what other countries look like. However, the places all around the world are looking more and more similar. What do you think is the effect cause the similarity? Do you think the advantages of this effect outweigh the shortages of it?
思路:
導(dǎo)致相似的原因: 根本的原因是深度的全球化。
首先,在一個(gè)國(guó)際旅游興盛的時(shí)代,每一個(gè)地區(qū),尤其是那些交通樞紐中心,被要求重建基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施來(lái)達(dá)到一個(gè)統(tǒng)一的國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。舉例,為了滿足外國(guó)游客的需求,酒店和購(gòu)物中心總是被設(shè)計(jì)為西方風(fēng)格的摩天大樓;地鐵和機(jī)場(chǎng)和建造也總是遵守一種全球通用的外觀;各種指示牌,廣告牌,甚至是菜單的文字信息也總是被翻譯為英文,這個(gè)國(guó)際性語(yǔ)言。
第二,全球性流行文化的流行。現(xiàn)在,全球性文化,它們非常地流行和有吸引力,和正在以一個(gè)前所未有的速度占領(lǐng)著每一個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的文化市場(chǎng)。舉例,任何一個(gè)城市的任何一家電影院,幾乎會(huì)在同一時(shí)間上映來(lái)自好萊塢的大片。此外,年輕人們也總是對(duì)于某些國(guó)際品牌有著相同的偏好,舉例,無(wú)論是上海,東京,還是紐約的年輕人,都穿著耐克的衣服在身上,拿著蘋(píng)果手機(jī)在手里。
好處:這給外來(lái)人員帶來(lái)便利。舉例,即使是一個(gè)對(duì)于當(dāng)?shù)匚幕耆吧膰?guó)外游客,也能迅速地通過(guò)統(tǒng)一的符號(hào),語(yǔ)言和外觀找到酒店,餐廳,公交路線,醫(yī)院和警察局,這讓旅行變得簡(jiǎn)單,舒服和安全。還有,統(tǒng)一的國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)也提升了當(dāng)?shù)氐纳钏健Ee例,在國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的要求下,那些落后的,偏遠(yuǎn)的地區(qū)也會(huì)有來(lái)自政府的投資來(lái)現(xiàn)代化其交通,航空,醫(yī)療,郵政和網(wǎng)絡(luò)系統(tǒng),這能讓當(dāng)?shù)乩习傩盏纳顚?shí)現(xiàn)升級(jí)。

范文(Band 9):
Nowadays, a high similarity between different countries has been a heated social issue in debate. In my view, the main cause is the globalization, and I agree that its advantages override its shortages.
Firstly, the root cause of this trend is the deep globalization. Specifically, in an age of thriving international business and travelling, all countries and regions, especially the ones that are pivots of transportation, are required to rebuild their infrastructures, for the purpose of reaching so-called global standards. For example, in anywhere worldwide, hotels are designed as western-style skyscrapers; the construction of railway stations and airports always follows the international norms; information on products, indicators, billboards and even food menus are translated into English, the universally global language. Besides, the form of a global pop culture also contributes much to the trend of similarity. For example, with exposure to the advertisements of multi-national companies, young people in Shanghai, Tokyo, or New York have the similar tastes in international famous brands, such as wearing clothes of Nike, and playing iPhone of Apple. Such globally common preference also makes people in different regions look the same.
I strongly believe this trend is beneficial for both local and international people. For one thing, a foreign tourist who is completely strange from the local society can easily find the hotel, restaurant, hospital, police station and even bus routes by the cross-country uniform language, symbols and appearances of buildings. By this way, the trip would be safer, more comfortable and pleasing. For another, this trend also improves living conditions of local residents. For example, under the demands of global standards, an undeveloped or remote area would receive the investment from the government for the modernization of its traffic, airline, postal, health care, and telecommunication systems, all of which can fulfill the update of daily life of locals.
However, there is always a big concern with this trend. Obviously, the high-level similarity means the decrease of cultural gap between countries, thus leading to the elimination of the national identity. For example, when English, famous-brand fashions, McDonalds and rock music are overwhelming in streets of a country, its indigenous language, traditional clothes, local cuisine and folk music will lose the space for survival.
In conclusion, there are two main causes of such trend of cross-border similarity, or international travelling and the popularity of global culture, respectively. In addition, according to the analysis above, the relevant benefits indeed outweigh the risks.
