Describe an occasion when you helped others.

In terms of an occasion when I helped someone, what occurred to me is that I once helped some people in need in a volunteer activity when I studied in my junior middle school. Well, it was about more than six years ago when I helped some children in the earthquake.

At that time, our school heard the news that Sichuan of China witnessed a serious earthquake and people in Sichuan suffered a lot in this earthquake. Therefore, the school organized a volunteer activity immediately. And from this chance, I could choose a pen pal from Sichuan to communicate with each other via writing letters or emails. This activity aimed at helping to improve the mental health of students in the disaster. After we wrote letters to the pen pals, some of the students in disaster recovered a lot psychologically/mentally. Meanwhile, I also helped them by raising some money, clothes and books for those students in need.

This experience of helping others was not only to help those students from Sichuan but also made me more helpful after I knew that the receivers felt grateful for what we had done.
