考試回顧

考場(chǎng)體驗(yàn)：北京王府學(xué)校

    考場(chǎng)地址：北京市昌平區(qū)北七家鎮(zhèn)王府街11號(hào)北京王府學(xué)校1號(hào)樓4層

    交通路線：地鐵5號(hào)線天通北苑站下車，換乘快速公交3號(hào)線到王府溫馨公寓站(北京王府學(xué)校正門)。

　　考場(chǎng)評(píng)估：北京10月GRE考位十分緊張，提前一個(gè)多月已經(jīng)沒有任何考位，當(dāng)時(shí)筆者還特意查詢了北京周邊天津以及石家莊的考點(diǎn)，發(fā)現(xiàn)也早已被訂完?？记皟蓚€(gè)禮拜，ETS放出了北京王府學(xué)校和私立匯佳學(xué)校的一些考位，筆者果斷報(bào)名。所以建議那些考試時(shí)間安排在緊靠申請(qǐng)季deadline的9月和10月的考生，務(wù)必至少提前2-3個(gè)月報(bào)名，當(dāng)考位已滿的時(shí)候，不時(shí)刷新報(bào)名頁面，看有無新增考位放出。談回北京王府學(xué)校這個(gè)考點(diǎn)，共有4個(gè)機(jī)房作為GRE考點(diǎn)。感覺監(jiān)考人員業(yè)務(wù)素質(zhì)不錯(cuò)，考場(chǎng)秩序維持的很好，無論安檢還是監(jiān)考都很嚴(yán)格。盡管離馬路不遠(yuǎn)，但因?yàn)楦粢艉芎?，完全聽不到外面嘈雜的聲音。而且考場(chǎng)設(shè)備很新，加分。所以總體下來這個(gè)考場(chǎng)還是挺不錯(cuò)的，建議城北的考生把這個(gè)考點(diǎn)當(dāng)做選項(xiàng)。

短文章：

For years, the leading theory for what caused the Younger Dryas (a dramatic reversal, about 12,900 years ago, in a global warming trend) was a release of water from Glacial Lake Agassiz. The theory posited that this meltwater flooded into the North Atlantic, lowering the salinity and intensity of surface waters enough to prevent them from sinking. Ocean currents were changed in such a way that northward transport of heat in the ocean diminished, and the North Atlantic regions plunged back into near-glacial conditions. However, evidence has emerged that the Younger Dryas began long before freshwater flooded the North Atlantic. Additionally, the temperature changes included by a shutdown in the North Atlantic heat conveyor system are too small to explain the Younger Dryas.

Since these changes went into effect, two new factories have opened in Dillton. Although the two factories employ more than 1,000 people, the unemployment rate in Dillton remains unchanged. In fact, only about 2 percent of customers have complained, indicating that an average of 98 people out of 100 are happy with the change. Furthermore, many servers have reported that a number of customers who ask for butter do not complain when they are given margarine instead. Clearly, either these customers do not distinguish butter from margarine or they use the term 'butter' to refer to either butter or margarine."

    3. The following appeared in a memo from the vice president of a food distribution company with food storage warehouses in several cities.?"Recently, we signed a contract with the Fly-Away Pest Control Company to provide pest control services at our fast-food warehouse in Palm City, but last month we discovered that over $20,000 worth of food there had been destroyed by pest damage. Meanwhile, the Buzzoff Pest Control Company, which we have used for many years, continued to service our warehouse in Wintervale, and last month only $10,000 worth of the food stored there had been destroyed by pest damage. Even though the price charged by Fly-Away is considerably lower, our best means of saving money is to return to Buzzoff for all our pest control services."

     Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.
