Life Sciences is a general term for science programs that are biologically-oriented – everything from the study of plants and animals and how they have evolved and adapted over time, to the molecular basis of life.

Life Sciences at UTM will intrigue those who are interested in behavior, biotechnology, genetics, physiology, health sciences and molecular biology. Internships and labs give our students greater understanding of real-world applications. Students interested in health care will benefit from affiliations U of T holds with local hospitals

UTM's small campus setting allows students to learn in small class sizes (fewer than 35 students in some cases) and get to know their professors. Most professors have active research programs, and our already stellar departments have added new professors who conduct research and teach classes in rapidly developing areas like behavioral genetics and landscape ecology.

Comparative Physiology (Science)

14.5 credits are required, including at least 5.0 at the 300/400 level, of which 1.0 must be at the 400 level.

Students wishing to enrol at the end of the first year (4.0 credits) must obtain a grade of at least 63% in both CHM110H5 and CHM120H5 and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50 to qualify. Students who do not meet these criteria can apply to enter the Specialist at the end of second year (8.0 credits) with the following new criteria: a grade of at least 70% in both BIO202H5 and BIO203H5 and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50. All students (including transfer students) must complete 4.0 UTM credits before requesting this program.
