The online Master of Education in Teacher Education: Elementary Mathematics Education is designed for teaching professionals who want to enhance their skills by studying the latest developments in mathematics at the elementary level. Using hands-on research-based instruction, you'll learn to integrate technology into students' mathematical education and align your lessons to the Common Core.

Designed For

The elementary math program is designed for licensed practicing elementary school teachers. In order to earn the add-on elementary mathematics designation, the teacher must hold at least “A” licensure in Elementary Education.

Career Opportunities

Upon completion of this degree, graduates may be eligible for various positions in their school districts like curriculum specialists, curriculum facilitators, math coaches, and other leadership roles at their school sites.

Research Interests

Our program integrates research on students’ mathematical thinking with research progress in core mathematics instructional practices to support teachers in developing a vision of high quality mathematics instruction that leads to improved learning for all students.

All applicants must have obtained the following: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately-evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools; satisfactory academic standing as an undergraduate or in a post-baccalaureate program. Non-native speakers of English must validate proficiency in the English language by one of three means: TOEFL: 79 (paper-based 550); IELTS: 6.5 Band Score; PTE: 67; and ELS: 112.
