The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications offers a five-year integrated degree leading to a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Master of Engineering (BE ME) in Electrical Engineering. Flexibility and choice are maintained throughout the entire structure by providing many elective courses. The BE ME is designed so that students acquire essential competencies such as creative problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking, independent learning, in-depth and discipline-specific knowledge, interpersonal communication skills, ethical standards and a team-oriented attitude.

Applicants should have a high school qualification, UNSW Foundation Studies, UNSW Diploma, recognized prior study or university transfer. English Language requirements: IELTS Academic version only: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT): 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest).
