**Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?**An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Computing Technologies, you will develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course.**Why Computing Technologies?**Our Computing Technologies degree prepares you to become a multi-skilled digital media and web developer, with expertise in areas such as user experience, mobile games and augmented reality. You’ll develop creative skills in audio, animation, graphic design and 3D modelling, along with technical abilities in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and MySQL, for example. With opportunities for work placements with firms such as Rancon, Athena Web Design, Codemasters and IBM, our graduates stand out from the competition. You’ll have the chance to create websites for live clients such as Cheltenham Motor Sports, win prizes at our 48 hour webathon challenge and exhibit work at the university’s own exhibitions, WEBX and COMX, showcasing your talent to potential employers. You’ll draw on the expertise of lecturers with extensive industry experience, learn from inspiring guest speakers and have the chance to undertake unforgettable field trips (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). Previously, students have analysed how applications can work within a real-world context, visiting the Design Museum in London, the VR World Congress and Tamworth Snow Dome.
