What will you do?

Our Bachelor of Finance gives you the skills and knowledge to excel in finance. You will:

• understand wealth management and financial modelling in depth
• study valuation issues and financial markets
• explore international trade and finance
• learn about specialised financial institutions and their asset classes
• build critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.

If you’re interested in a more global perspective, we also offer the Bachelor of Finance (International), a specialised stream that emphasises adaptability and large scale insights.

Where could it take you?

You could work in commercial banking as a sales associate, trust officer or loan officer. You might become a financial adviser, helping people secure their dream homes and plan for retirement. Perhaps you’ll pursue data analysis or even manage a hedge fund.

Career Readiness

Finance graduates are well positioned to gain employment in the private and public sectors all over the world. Opportunities can arise in trading and merchant banks, investment firms, consulting specialists, private and public corporations, and local and national government agencies.

Roles are likely to include treasury and risk management, stockbroking, fund and portfolio management, international trade, and derivatives trading and pricing.

Degree Structure

All students commence in the Bachelor of Finance program and after completing first year can choose to specialise in international finance. A common first year comprised of courses in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics and accounting is followed by the choice of pathway best suited to the interests of the student.

Students must complete core finance courses, which include:

• International Financial Institutions and Markets at level 1
• Business Finance and Financial Economics at level 2
• Portfolio Theory and Management at level 3.
