Course Overview

Northern Ireland has become a leading global location for financial and legal/professional services investment, with 6,555 employed in legal services and 39,287 employed in financial services (source: Invest NI, Nov 2019). This programme is aimed at those students who have attained a level 3 qualification and who wish to pursue a career in the legal and financial sector. The BSc (Hons) in Corporate Law and Finance will be an important addition to the financial sector suite of programmes currently on offer at SWC. The degree has a focus on the areas of corporate finance, financial investment and analysis, financial maths and statistics, financial services regulations, corporate legislation and corporate governance, risk management and digital business technologies. The provision will equip students with the tools and knowledge to operate in legal and financial environments, and to develop a broad understanding of law and finance from an international perspective.

Assessment Method

Students will be assessed using a variety of methods including coursework and / or examination. A number of techniques appropriate to the profession are also used to measure student progress comprising observational assessments, interview skills, research methods and presentations.
