Visual Art gives you a dynamic and progressive education in contemporary art, balancing studio-based production with art theory. Our visual art studio, the Audain Gallery, will give you the opportunity to present your work as well as connect with local and international artists, forming community based networks.

The Visual Art program in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology is one of the performing and fine arts offered by the School for Contemporary Arts. This program is offered at the Vancouver campus.

The bachelor of fine arts (BFA) with a major in visual art prepares students to become practicing artists. A combination of broad-based practical studio courses and theoretical and historical seminars prepares students to understand their production in relation to current visual art and other discipline developments. A strong emphasis is on an understanding of the position and responsibilities of the artist in contemporary society.

Admission is calculated on Senior Year 3 academic subjects. Other English Language Requirements accepted: A minimum?TOEFL?score of 580 (paper-based).
