The sport management industry is big business with a global reach. Demand exists for professionals who are knowledgeable and skilled in both sport dynamics and business administration to fill jobs in coaching and managing, sports marketing and promotion, entertainment venue and sports facilities management, and sport equipment and apparel production and sales, to name just a few.

Rivier’s Sport Management program will provide you with a strong foundation in sport and business administration. Core courses in business management and law, marketing, accounting and finance, and statistics combine with sport-specific courses for a well rounded education. In addition to industry-specific knowledge, the program advances intercultural knowledge through the exploration of sport as unifying force in the world.

In this program you will:

  • Gain industry-specific knowledge that will prepare you to enter in-demand professions
  • Develop your critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Become an effective communicator and collaborator
  • Advance your information literacy and intercultural knowledge

Through a focus on experiential learning and a required internship, you will build your resume and become workforce ready. Our proximity to many sport and entertainment venues offers excellent opportunities for internships and employment. You will gain practical experience, building your confidence as well as your resume, and develop a skill set applicable to any workplace.

Applicants must have official academic records (transcripts or mark-sheets) of their high school transcripts/diploma and for each year of postsecondary education (college or university), as well as official copies of degrees awarded. Required Scores for TOEFL: A score of 79 on the Internet Based Test (IBT), 550 points on the Paper Based Test (PBT) or 213 or higher on the Computer Based Test (CBT) is required for unrestricted acceptance; Required Scores for IELTS: Applicants must present scores of at least 5.5 for general acceptance and 6.0 for nursing acceptance on the IELTS; and PTE (43). Some applicants may require higher test scores depending on educational background and program of entry.
