Bachelor of Leadership for Change is not a standard degree: it's self-directed and action centred. It lets you channel your passion, your anger, your drive and your purpose, so you can make a difference where it matters.

The degree isn't prescriptive. You make it what you want it to be. Leadership for Change guides and supports you to identify a problem, figure out the solution and turn the solution into action.

You decide what matters.

If you’re already making change and contributing to something important, this degree will crank it up. You'll become a strong, self-aware and capable leader. You'll know who you are, what you want, where you're going and how you'll get there.

If you want to make a difference in the community, environment, society or the world, study the Bachelor of Leadership for Change. It is a self-directed, project-based degree for people who know there’s a better way to do things and who have the desire and drive to make change happen.

How this programme is assessed

Everything you do in Year 1 and 2 builds to your Year 3 final project. At the end of Year 3, you’ll present your project and your practice framework. By the time you finish this programme, you’ll know who you are, what your job is, what your goal is and how you will reach it.

To enter Otago Polytechnic’s, you need to have achieved a secondary school qualification that is equivalent to New Zealand’s NCEA levels (National Certificate of Educational Achievement). Achievement of good results in the National Higher Education Entrance Examination commonly known as the “Gaokao”. Or successful completion of an Otago Polytechnic certificate programme. IELTS test: Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5; TOEFL paper based test (PBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); TOEFL internet based test (IBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); Cambridge english qualifications: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill; Pearson test of english (ACADEMIC): PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42; Language Certificate: C1 Expert IESOL (LRWS) with PASS and no less than Pass in each skill; OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; Trinity ISE: ISE II with no less than distinction in any band
