The accounting systems concentration (15 credits within the 120-credit BSBU) is for students who are interested in becoming Accounting Information Systems Analysts, Certified Public Accountants or working in the field of accounting. Accounting specialization courses include CPA eligibility requirements along with electives in international accounting and accounting information systems. Students in this specialization will be encouraged to pursue internships in the field in order to apply the skills learned in the classroom and enhance their career prospects for the future.

Program Objectives

Students will acquire the skills needed to develop an understanding of the "common body of knowledge" as defined by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. In addition, students will develop a set of frameworks to analyze, comprehend, and enjoy facts, concepts, and ideas and analytical and critical thinking, decision making, leadership, planning and organization, and problem-solving skills.
