Our School of Social Work will prepare you to make a difference in Montreal, across Canada, and around the world. With a focus on social justice on issues facing vulnerable and disadvantaged people, our goal is the development of just and equitable societies.

To think critically about social work practice and policy. Our professors have a wide variety of dynamic specializations, including child welfare, families, violence, sexuality, aging, social theory, social work practice, and methodology.

We have strong ties in the community…
Our students take field placements and our staff work closely with supervisors in CLSCs, Youth Protection, community organizations, advocacy groups, hospitals, and health agencies.

The 3-Year B.S.W. degree is awarded upon successful completion of 90 credits of study. It consists of a combination of social work courses, supervised field practice, and courses located principally in the social sciences.

Program Requirements

Field Practicum
Students in the three-year B.S.W. program complete a field placement during their second and third years, two days per week, in different settings each year. Students must have completed a minimum of 24 credits of the 90 credits of study before commencing their second year placement, and 54 credits before commencing their third-year placement.

Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English (Academic) with the minimum score of 85; Cambridge English (Advanced) with a grade B or better ; or Cambridge English: Certificate of Proficiency in English with a grade C or better; MELAB SCORE OF 85 and Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) with overall score of 60.
