Liberal Program

This is a flexible and modular program. This option allows you to combine a core science component (CSC) in one discipline with a breadth component which may consist of a minor, a major concentration from the Faculty of Arts, or a second CSC. Consider the Liberal program if you do not want to overly specialise - plus, you will still have room left over for elective courses.

Program Requirements

This is the Core Science Component in Geography for the B.Sc. Liberal. Required courses provide a foundation in Geography (which takes a holistic approach to environmental sciences, distinguished by its incorporation of human and climatic elements). By completing these courses, students will be armed with the prerequisites for 300-level courses in Geography. Our set of complementary courses provides students with necessary analytical skills and a broad background in physical geography. The 300-level courses in the complementary set prepare students for advanced study at the 400 and 500 level.

Over the course of three years (U1, U2 and U3), students will complete a 90-credit degree. For students from high schools outside Quebec, a 30-credit freshman year (called U0) will be added at the start of your studies (making this a four-year, 120-credit degree).

Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English (Academic) with the minimum score of 85; Cambridge English (Advanced) with a grade B or better ; or Cambridge English: Certificate of Proficiency in English with a grade C or better; MELAB SCORE OF 85 and Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) with overall score of 60.
