Students graduate not only job ready but industry ready. This accredited degree is ideal for students looking to pursue a career in law but who also have an interest in human behaviour.

For students seeking a career in law, the course equips them with skills for the courtroom and beyond, providing greater scope and options for a rewarding career in the legal, corporate, commercial and social justice fields.

Students can add value to their law degree by selecting elective units in specialized areas of law. Students may also participate in the Law Society Peer Mentoring Program, The Innocence Project, The Law Access Program and international mooting competitions to give them real world experience and the competitive edge in the job market.

The Bachelor of Psychological focuses on issues of social change, group processes, group management, and cross-cultural psychology.

Course structure

Students are required to complete: 22 Core Law units and 10 Law Elective units, plus 16 Core Psychological Science units.

Course Learning Outcomes

Adopt professional and ethical behaviour and/or personal citizenship that reflect the interrelationship between ethics, codes of conduct, justice and community service.

Apply broad and coherent range of legal and psychology knowledge to a range of theoretical and practical issues, incorporating international/global/cultural/Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.

Collaborate in team settings and demonstrate initiative to produce measurable outcomes.

Communicate legal and psychology knowledge, concepts and advice using relevant technologies clearly and persuasively.

Exercise critical thinking, judgement and intellectual independence to evaluate, consolidate and synthesise knowledge relevant to legal and psychology issues.

Reflect on feedback and critique on own performance to support scholarship and personal and professional development, demonstrating autonomy, responsibility and accountability.

Think creatively to anticipate challenges and generate solutions in legal, psychology-based situations.

Use digital technologies and [discipline related literacies] to [access, evaluate and synthesise] relevant information from [multiple sources]

Employment opportunities

Potential careers exist in private practice, in-house corporate practice and in-house government; and in personal counselling and related careers. Corporate planning, government policy, politics, journalism, creative writing and many other careers dependent on excellent written and verbal communications skills, logic and analytical ability are also welcome options for graduates.

Applicants must have National College Entrance Exam (Gao Kao) OR Successful completion of one year of tertiary study Standard Entry - A minimum of 65.6% of the overall score, Higher Entry - A minimum of 70% of the overall score. Minimum requirements for secondary school results can change, depending on the country where you completed secondary study. English Language Requirements accepted: Academic IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL: Minimum score of 550, including Test of Written English of 5 or better; TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 70, with no individual score less than 17; PTE Academic: PTE Academic 52, with no scores less than 50 for courses with a current requirement; University of Cambridge [Cambridge English: Advanced]: Pre-2015: A score between 52 - 57 with no less than 'Borderline' in any element of the test. Post-2015: An overall score of 169, with no individual band less than 169; or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 including TWE of 5.
